What we do
We fit carpet, carpet tiles, LVT, sheet vinyl, safety flooring, laminate, engineered wood, solid wood and patterned floors such as herringbone. We work in houses, flats and rental properties across Ipswich, Kesgrave, Martlesham and Woodbridge.
We also do our own floor preparation: uplift, levelling, screeding, moisture treatment and repairs. Each material has its own rules on moisture, movement, adhesives and underlay, and getting those right is what separates a floor that lasts from one that lifts.
How we work
- We look underneath first. Every quote follows a survey of the subfloor, not just a tape measure around the room.
- We itemise. Materials, preparation, fitting and trims are priced separately, so you can see what you are paying for.
- We follow the manufacturer’s method. Acclimatisation times, adhesives, expansion gaps and heating limits are set by the product, and we stick to them so guarantees stay valid.
- We tell you what we do not know until we look. If a floor cannot be assessed until the carpet is up, the quote says so.
Why we start with the subfloor
Most floors that fail, fail from below. LVT lifts because the concrete was damp. Laminate creaks because the base had a hollow. Wood cups because a screed had not dried. Carpet wears through on a stair nosing because the underlay was too soft. None of these are faults in the floor covering, and none can be fixed from the top once the floor is down.
So the survey matters more than the sample book. We check what the subfloor is made of, how flat it is, how dry it is and whether it moves. The answers decide which floors will work in the room, what preparation they need and what the honest price is. Read more under floor preparation.
